I was introduced to yoga by my friend a few years ago and though I have read all about the yoga philosophy I do not embrace all the rules but use it to suit my own purposes. I am a hard working business woman and have little time but lots of stress in my work. I have developed the habit of coming home from work, preparing dinner and then getting my yoga mat and spending as much time as possible in deep relaxation until my husband comes home. He is very considerate as he starts to cook dinner allowing me more relaxation time and he never disturbs my concentration. I find it very relaxing even though it does involve some vigorous exercise. It gives me the opportunity to relax my mind, to take stock of the day’s events and often to solve any problems I have encountered that day.

My yoga mat is the very first one I bought and it has huge significance to me. It was not expensive but whatever it cost it was worth every dime I paid. As soon as I pick it up the stresses of the day begin to dwindle and before I roll it out I give it a hug which my husband finds very amusing but he knows how important my yoga is to me and supports me totally. I did try to get him to try yoga, even promising to buy him a yoga mat for his birthday, but he declined saying that he preferred fishing and that, for him, had exactly the same effect. He did suggest that a new rod would be a much better idea and I had to agree with him.

Many boardroom decisions are made on my yoga mat but I suppose thsat applies to the golf course and the river bank equally.
