It may perhaps be risky to say but I usually do not see yoga as a man’s thing. Little doubt certain males may perhaps disagree with this but amongst the men of my acquaintance I do not know even one who practices yoga. As far as I go, I’d use the garden shed if I wanted to meditate. Nearly all of my major thinking is often done there anyways and that’s where decisions of foremost importance usually are made. Whilst talking to my partner regarding the subject, she thought that based on her group of friends, most of guys sat on toilet seats instead of yoga mats as a way to do their thinking. I believe she could be right. Though not really my particular thing, I can’t help but imagine all the times I’ve sat there waiting for what looked to be forever. Eventually an embarrassed colleague comes out tucking away his newspaper or whatever reading material suits him.
When individuals are searching for solutions to getting fit and be in good physical shape I have not known a man to take up yoga though I’m positive several men must do. It’s just not essentially the most manly man thing, now, is it? Weight training, sporting activities and golf are much more likely candidates to draw in a man. Sitting on the yoga mat and posturing and chanting will not be extremely manlike and likely to make a man the target of office humor. At the end of the day, I think that certain activities have been specially designed with females in mind. This however, doesn’t take into account the actual version of yoga. Yoga is an very old activity that originated in India and many people even practice it today.
There should be a very different name for the yoga we practice nowadays. Perhaps something similar to ‘recreational yoga’ in view of the fact that people just sit there or lie on yoga mats. This bears absolutely no resemblance to the initial practice. Normally, yoga philosophy seriously is not even in mind. It appears to be a trend for lots of people to take up yoga however does beg the question of how many keep on with it and how many unused yoga mats are gathering dust.
